Custom Track and Field Tents
By Darrin DeTorres· Notice Me Marketing & Media · Updated
A custom track and field tent is a pop-up canopy printed in your team's colors, logo, and school name that gives athletes a shaded home base at meets. Most programs use a 10x10 for a small squad or a 10x20 for a full team, on an aluminum frame one or two people can set up, anchored with sandbags on pavement or turf and ground spikes on grass.
Team Tents prints track, field, and cross country tents edge to edge in your colors, from a 10x10 canopy one coach can raise to the 10x20 team canopyfor a full roster. Graphic design is included, and there's no minimum order. Outfitting every sport? See all our custom team tents.

Where Track and XC Teams Use Them
A meet is a long day outdoors. The tent is where the team lives between races.
Track meets
Teams usually camp in the stands area, beside the track, or on the infield, wherever the host allows. Meets run for hours, so the tent is shade between events and the place athletes keep bags, water, and spikes.
Cross country meets
Courses run over open grass on parks, farms, and golf courses, and teams pitch along a line near the start and finish. A printed canopy and a feather flag let runners and parents find the team in a field of plain tents.
Invitationals and championships
Multi-team meets mean dozens of canopies side by side. Your colors and school name on the canopy and valance are how recruits, alumni, and families spot the program.
Practice and home meets
The same tent shades the throws ring, the jumps pit, or the timing table at home, and doubles as the booster booth on meet day.
Cross Country Team Tents
A cross country team tent is the team's camp at a meet: one branded canopy near the start area where runners leave bags, warm up, and regroup between races, and where parents know to find them. On the open grass of a course, a 10x10 covers a small varsity squad and a 10x20 covers a full roster of boys' and girls' teams, staked down with ground spikes.
Cross country tents take more weather than track tents: the season runs from late-summer heat into cold, wet fall meets on open fields. A half-wall or full wall on the windward side keeps runners warm before the gun, and a feather flag above the canopy is the landmark parents look for. Distance clubs and road-race teams use the same build; see our race event tents.

What Size Team Tent Do You Need?
Size it to the roster and the bags, not just the athletes.
| Size | Footprint | Who Fits | Setup | Frame |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10×10 team tent | 100 sq ft | A small squad, an event group (throwers, jumpers, distance), or a varsity XC seven | One person, a few minutes | 40mm or 50mm hex aluminum |
| 10×15 team tent | 150 sq ft | A mid-size team that has outgrown a 10×10 | 1–2 people, a few minutes | 40mm or 50mm hex aluminum |
| 10×20 team tent | 200 sq ft | A full roster, or boys' and girls' teams under one roof | Two people | 50mm hex aluminum, cast joints |
A custom printed 10×10 starts at $850 with graphic design, the frame, and shipping included. 10×15 and 10×20 tents are quoted to the order, usually within one business day.
Anchoring at Meets
Open fields catch wind. Anchor every leg before anyone sits down.
Grass courses
Use ground spikes through the foot plates and tie-down ropes from the corners. Cross country fields are open, and wind comes across them unblocked.
Turf, track, and pavement
Never stake into a track or synthetic turf. Use sandbags or weights on every leg, and ask the meet host where tents may stand.
Wind
Anchored, our 50mm hex frame is rated for winds up to 50 mph. Lower the legs to their shortest height in gusts, and take the tent down when the meet director calls weather.
Meet rules
Hosts set where tents go, how big they can be, and whether stakes are allowed. Check the meet packet before you load the van.
Designing a Track & Field Tent
Put the mascot or logo on the canopy peak and the school name on the valance, the 8-inch strip on all four sides that reads from the stands. Keep sponsor and booster logos on the valance or walls so they don't crowd the team mark. Bold, high-contrast school colors read best from across a field; see our tent design tips.
Our designers build the artwork with you and match your colors, and you approve a digital proof before anything prints. Production takes 10 to 14 business days after approval and payment, plus transit.

Walls, flags, and covers printed to match, on the same order.
Half-walls and full walls
A half-wall (about 36 inches) on the windward side blocks the breeze without closing the tent. Full walls give runners a place to change.
flagFeather flags
A tall flag with the school name marks the team camp across a cross country field.

A printed cover dresses the check-in or snack table and hides bins underneath.

Track and Cross Country Tent FAQs
Sizes, anchoring, and ordering for meet season.
- What size tent does a track team need?
- A 10×10 covers a small squad or a single event group. Most full track teams use a 10×20, which takes the roster, bags, and coolers under one roof. Programs with large rosters often run one 10×20 for the team and a 10×10 for an event group.
- What size tent does a cross country team need?
- A 10×10 covers a varsity squad of seven plus bags. A 10×20 fits a full roster of boys' and girls' teams. Add a half-wall on the windward side for open courses.
- Can we stake the tent at a track meet?
- Not on a track or synthetic turf. Use sandbags or weights on every leg there. Ground spikes work on grass, which covers most cross country courses. The meet host decides where tents can stand.
- Can you print our school colors, mascot, and sponsor logos?
- Yes. The canopy, the valance on all four sides, and any walls are printed full color by dye sublimation. Graphic design and color matching are included, and you approve a digital proof before printing. Sponsor and booster logos fit well on the valance and walls.
- Is there a minimum order?
- No. Order one tent for the team or a matched set for track, cross country, and the booster club.
- How long does a custom team tent take?
- 10 to 14 business days after artwork approval and payment, plus transit. Order before the first meet of the season.
- Will the tent hold up to a season outdoors?
- The canopy and walls are 600D PU polyester, which is waterproof, UV-resistant, and flame retardant. The print is dyed into the fabric, so it won't crack or peel. The hex aluminum frame won't rust.
