Pop Up Canopy with Sides
By the Team Tents crew · Notice Me Marketing & Media · Updated
An open canopy gives you shade. Add sides and it blocks low sun, wind, and sideways rain, and gives you a back wall to print your name on. Every Team Tents canopy takes zip-on full walls or half-walls, ordered one side at a time.

What is a pop up canopy with sides?
A pop up canopy with sides is a portable folding tent frame with removable or attached sidewalls. The walls block sun, rain, wind, and prying eyes, turning an open shade cover into a partly or fully enclosed space for events, markets, sports, and backyard gatherings.
On a Team Tents canopy the walls are removable: each one zips in at the eave and fastens to the legs, so you can run fully open, fully enclosed, or anything in between. See all sidewalls for pop up canopies.

Five common wall styles, what each one is for, and which ones we make.
Solid Walls
Floor-to-canopy fabric panels, about 78 inches tall on our tents. A solid wall blocks low sun, wind, and sideways rain, and four of them close the canopy into a lockable-looking box for retail or a private team area. Ours are 600D PU polyester, printed in full color.
We make these
Half Walls
Waist-height panels, about 36 inches tall, that border the canopy without closing it in. Customers can still see in and staff can still see out, which is why half-walls are the default for market stalls, vendor rows, and sidelines.
We make these
Mesh / Screen Walls
Open-weave panels that keep bugs out and let air through. They cut some sun and wind but don't stop rain, and they offer little privacy.

Window Walls
Solid walls with a clear or mesh window panel. They keep weather out while letting light in and letting people see the space inside.

Door / Zip Walls
Solid walls with a zippered opening, so you can close the canopy fully and still walk in and out without unclipping a panel.

Sidewall Protection Compared
| Wall Type | Sun | Rain | Wind | Bugs | Privacy |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Solid wall | High | High | High | Partial | Full |
| Half wall | Low | Low | Partial | None | Partial |
| Mesh / screen | Partial | None | Partial | High | Low |
| Window wall | Partial | High | High | Partial | Partial |
| Door / zip wall | High | High | High | Partial | Full |
Ratings are for one wall on the side it faces. Half-walls are about 36 inches tall, so they only cover the lower part of that side.
How to Choose a Pop Up Canopy with Sides
Five things to settle before you order walls.
Size and Frame
Start with the footprint you're assigned. A 10×10 fits most vendor stalls, sidelines, and tailgate slots and takes 10ft walls. A 10×20 takes 20ft walls on the long sides. Pick the 50mm hex aluminum frame if the canopy will wear walls in open, windy sites.
Weather
Sun from one side? One solid wall on that side does the job. Rain or wind? Solid walls on the windward sides. Our 600D PU polyester is waterproof, UV-resistant, and flame retardant, on both the canopy and the walls.
Ventilation
Four solid walls trap heat on a still, sunny day. Leave the front open, or mix solid walls on the weather side with half-walls elsewhere so air keeps moving.
Setup Time
The frame goes up first: one person in under 5 minutes on a 10×10, two people on a 10×20. Each zip-on wall then takes about 60 seconds for one person.
Budget
Walls are ordered one at a time, so you don't have to buy a four-wall kit on day one. Most setups start with a printed back wall and two half-walls. Every order is quoted to the job, with graphic design included.

Does a canopy with sides need extra anchoring?
Yes. Every wall you add catches wind like a sail, so a canopy with sides pulls harder on its legs than an open one. Anchor every leg with sandbags, ground spikes, or tie-down ropes before the walls go on, keep the legs low in gusts, and avoid closing all four sides in strong wind.
Our 50mm hex aluminum frame is rated for winds up to 50 mph when anchored. That rating doesn't make an unanchored canopy safe at any speed, and above 50 mph the canopy should come down. Take the walls off first if the wind is building.
Anchor Checklist
- Sandbags or weights on every leg on pavement.
- Ground spikes on grass.
- Tie-down ropes from the frame corners wherever you can.
- Anchor first, then hang walls.
- Legs at their shortest height in gusts.

Vendor Booths
A solid back wall carries your logo and hides stock; half-walls on the sides frame the booth without blocking the front.

- Take the walls off before you close the frame, and roll them rather than folding them on the same crease every time.
- Never pack walls wet. Dry them completely before they go back in the bag.
- Clean with mild soap, water, and a soft brush. Skip bleach and pressure washers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Waterproofing, buying walls separately, fit across sizes, and anchoring.
- What is a pop up canopy with sides?
- A pop up canopy with sides is a portable folding tent frame with removable or attached sidewalls. The walls block sun, rain, wind, and prying eyes, turning an open shade cover into a partly or fully enclosed space for events, markets, sports, and backyard gatherings.
- Are canopy sidewalls waterproof?
- Ours are. Team Tents canopies and walls are 600D PU polyester, which is waterproof, UV-resistant, and flame retardant. Full-height walls keep wind-driven rain out of the sides; half-walls only cover the bottom 36 inches or so.
- Can I buy sidewalls separately?
- Yes. Walls are ordered one at a time, so you can add one back wall now and more later. They're made for Team Tents 10×10 and 10×20 frames. If your canopy is another brand, send the brand and size on your quote and we'll tell you what fits.
- Do sidewalls fit every canopy size?
- Walls are sized to the side they hang on: 10ft walls for a 10×10 or the short end of a 10×20, and 20ft walls for the long side of a 10×20. Half-walls and full walls come in both lengths. 10×15 wall options are confirmed on your quote.
- How do the sides attach to a pop up canopy?
- Each wall zips into the canopy along the eave and fastens to the legs at the corners with velcro. No tools needed; one person can hang a wall in about 60 seconds.
- Do I need walls on all four sides?
- Usually not. Most vendors and teams use one solid back wall and leave the front open, with half-walls on the sides. Four full walls make sense for overnight setups, pop-up retail you need to close, or a private team area.
- Does a pop up canopy with sides need extra anchoring?
- Yes. Walls catch wind, so anchor every leg with sandbags, ground spikes, or tie-down ropes before the walls go on. Our 50mm frame is rated to 50 mph when anchored; take the canopy down above that.
